New Blog

Good morning! First of all, I want to say what an honor it has been to teach your children these last months. I have seen all of them grow in so many ways, and I am proud of each and every one of them. I am sad to be leaving, but I hope to still see them once in a while as I return to being a substitute teacher.

Their new teacher, Mrs. Jensen, has her own blog where homework will be posted for you. You can find it at Mrs. Jensen's Blog .

Thank you again for all of the support you have given to me and your children this year.

Willy Wonka Try Outs

In April LeRoi Daniels students will be performing the play "Willy Wonka". Attached here is the parent letter about tryouts that was sent home with those students who were interested earlier this week. We are also sending it out this way in case some of those letters didn't make it home or your student was away this week.

Tryouts for our class will be next Monday. If your child is interested in trying out, please have them study the lines on the attached letter and practice being able to perform with projection and expression.

Best of luck to all of our little actors!

Return to School - January 10

Hi everyone - I'm so excited to see you all back in class on Monday! Here are a just a few notes of things you might need to know:

1. I have just posted our homework for this coming week. Our spelling words will give you a hint about what our new Science unit is going to be :) Homework will be due on Friday January 14 along with our first spelling test of 2022!

2. We will not be having a spelling test with your words from our Winter Break homework. I will check that homework on January 14 along with our new homework, though, so make sure it's done!

3. In light of the increased covid spread, I am going to be even more firm about student keeping their masks on. We talk a lot in class about being part of a family and taking care of each other, and there are members of our class and some of our teachers who are at higher risk of complications if they get sick, so we need to do everything we can to protect them. Please reinforce with your child that they are expected to wear masks ALL THE TIME except when they are outside or in gym class. I understand that it's not easy, and we all wish it was different, but we need to put others first and take care of our friends and teachers. The best way to do that is through masks and vaccines. Please do all you can.

I can't wait to see you all and hear about all of the adventures you had over Winter Break. See you Monday!

Magnet Projects

Good evening - this is just a friendly reminder that if your child did not bring their magnet project in on Friday, they MUST bring it tomorrow. The projects we have seen so far have been excellent. I can't wait to see what else your kids have created!

Raz Kids Password Change

Hi parents - I have heard from several of you and some of our students that their Raz Kids reward stars have been disappearing. This does not seem to be the work of someone hacking into our accounts, but rather a problem with Raz Kids. In an effort to be extra careful I will be changing all of the Raz Kids passwords this weekend. I will give the students their new cards to take home on Monday to put into their homework books, but if you need it before then please email me.

Also please let me know if your child has some stars missing and I will try to gift them a few stars.
