On Tuesday afternoon we had a special guest come into our class to teach us about what life was like 200 years ago for the Acadian people. This connects to our learning about the diversity of Canadian communities. We learned that the Acadians had to work hard to survive! We got to try making butter, learn about weaving, learn about all the of the chores that they needed to do and paint lighthouses in the Acadian colors of red, yellow, white and blue.
Homework for this week has been posted under the Homework page. Just click the link on the right hand side of this page. Please note that homework is a mandatory part of being a student at a TLC school, and homework folders need to be returned to school on the last day of each week.

Our school is going to receive every dollar raised to support our library and receive an additional 30% discount off books when we shop at Indigo & Chapters program donations. These funds will go long way to bringing more diverse and inclusive picture books to our classrooms.

Thank you again to all of you who came to our parent meeting tonight. Here are a few key points:

What a fabulous first week! We have spent lots of time talking about what kind of place we want our class to be (like a family!) and getting to know each other. We have also talked a lot about what it means to have a growth mindset and keep on trying when things are hard.
